HBDYCS?
a benchmark, not a product

How big does your company sound?

Does your landing page make you sound like a solopreneur... or a Fortune 500 company?

This is not about sounding bigger or smaller. It is about clarity. Startups earn trust by being specific. Established brands can afford to be abstract.

We will estimate your company's perceived size using only your landing page copy.

01 - THE IDEA

Sounding big is costing you clients.

Abstraction only works when your brand already carries the meaning. Google can say "organize the world's information." You cannot, because nobody knows who you are yet.

When a small company talks like a big one, the message does not sound impressive. It sounds blurry. Your ideal client reads "we orchestrate intelligent workflows" and moves on.

Small companies win by being painfully specific: who it is for, what it does, what changes. Every abstract concept on your homepage is a client quietly closing the tab.

Abstraction is earned.

-> Specific wins clients
STAGE 2

-> Abstraction starts to blur
STAGE 3

"Move the world forward."
-> Brand carries the meaning. Earned.
02 - THE VOCABULARY

the big words tracker

Hype words pop up constantly. There is no faster way to fall into AI slop than to overuse them to explain fuzzy concepts. This table is scraped from current news articles and public launch feeds, capturing the buzzwords dominating AI right now.

index = weighted 7-day buzz velocity across public sources - not financial advice

How this tracker works
01 - Gather

Every 12 hours, the tracker scans public news and launch feeds, Hacker News, GDELT, and Bluesky. Each crawl keeps a rolling seven-day window of source material.

02 - Extract

Articles are checked against 25 tracked hype terms and their common aliases. Duplicate documents are removed, phrases are normalized, and every match keeps its source and timestamp.

03 - Rank

The index weights recency, mention volume, and variety of sources. The 24-hour change compares today with the previous day; the sparkline maps momentum across the full week.

HERO COPY, AUTO-ASSEMBLED FROM THE TOP 6 TICKERS100% generic

"The AI-native platform for agentic, autonomous copilots - transforming workflows with enterprise-grade intelligence."

sound familiar? that is the problem. the agent wrote it in 0.4 seconds and it fits about 40% of YC's last batch.

03 - THE GAUGE

Where you will land.

Write with the vocabulary above and here is where the analyzer puts you. The verdicts are honest. Sometimes too honest.

Enterprise
SOUNDS LIKE: ENTERPRISE

Your copy has committees, procurement, and a global sales team hiding between the lines.

worst case, you get a joke at your expense
04 - THE GAME

Can you guess the company size?

We scanned real landing-page patterns and compared how large the copy sounds with how large the team actually is. Preview a few results, then try the game yourself.
